California senior Chris Scales (San Jose, CA) anchored a still rings lineup which set a new modern program record of 69.100 in a road tri-meet against No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 2 Stanford (Mar. 16). His career-best of 14.150 ranks in a tie for third in modern program history and finished tied for third in the meet. Scales bettered his previous best by .550, and contributed to Cal’s 404.950 team total- its highest since 2019 and the fifth- best score in modern program history. This is the first career MPSF weekly award for Scales.
