USC freshman Emily Ausmus (Riverside, CA) scored 12 goals to help the Trojans win the Triton Invitational championship (Jan. 31-Feb. 2). She scored twice and had three assists in the title game in a 14-11 win over No. 1 UCLA. She opened the event with five goals in a 30-8 USC win over CMS, then had a hat trick in a 17-9 win over No. 21 UC Davis. In the semifinal vs. No. 5 Hawai’i, Ausmus scored two and had four assists and a steal in a 17-9 win.
This is the first career MPSF award for Ausmus.
