UCLA junior middle blocker Cameron Thorne (Hollywood, FL) led a 2-0 week over No. 2 UC Irvine in a home-and-away series (Feb. 19-22). Across the two matches, Thorne totaled 32 kills on 38 attempts and hit .711. He tallied a then career-high 15 kills in the road sweep, where he hit .579, before setting a new career-high with 17 kills on an outstanding .842 clip in the five-set home win. For the week, Thorne averaged 4.00 kills and 5.00 points per set, and served three aces. This is the
fourth career MPSF weekly award for Thorne, though first as offensive recognition and as a Bruin nominee.
