USC freshman Emily Ausmus (Riverside, CA) was the Trojans’ top scorer at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational (Feb. 21-23) with 13 goals, while also adding four assists, three steals and two drawn exclusions in a second-place team finish. Ausmus matched her career-high with six goals in a 30-5 win over Biola, and then recorded a hat trick in a 15-7 win over No. 8 Long Beach State. In the semifinals vs. No. 5 Hawai’i, she had another hat trick and added three assists in a 14-7 win to advance to the title game. There, Ausmus scored one goal and drew two exclusions vs. No. 1 Stanford. This is the third career MPSF weekly award for Ausmus, each in the last four weeks.
