#1 STANFORD (16-1) defeated No. 4 California, 356.150 - 355.650 on Senior Night at Maples Pavilion. The win marks the 16th victory for the Cardinal this year, and avenges the loss delivered by the Golden Bears the last time the two teams met in a dual meet. Stanford started the competition off right in the first rotation, taking a 4.05 lead over Cal. Redshirt sophomore Greg Ter-Zakhariants, the nation's top-ranked gymnast in floor exercise, captured the event title with a 15.850. In the second rotation, Stanford flexed its muscle on the vault, grabbing all three top spots, with two scores over 16. Carney captured the event with his best score of the season, 16.050, while Dixon took second with an even 16.000. Ter-Zakhariants took third with 15.950.

#3 OKLAHOMA (11-1) did not compete as its March 8 matchup with No. 7 Ohio State was cancelled due to blizzard conditions in Ohio. OU returns to action in Norman on March 15 when the Sooners take on No. 8 Minnesota at the Howard McCasland Field House. The meet will mark senior night for co-captains Jonathan Horton and Taqiy Abdullah-Simmons.

#5 CALIFORNIA (5-4) beat No. 1 Stanford in four events but dropped the Big Flip, 356.150 - 355.650. The Golden Bears took pommel horse, rings, parallel bars and high bar. Senior Tim McNeill won pommel horse with a 15.400, which was .400 better than his closest competitor. McNeill was Cal's top finisher on still rings, taking second with a career-high 15.000. Parallel bars was once again the highlight of the night for the Golden Bears, overpowering Stanford, 61.400-58.100. McNeill and Christ tied for first on the event, each notching a 15.450. Kyson Bunthuwong was close behind the seniors with a 15.350 for third, which tied his personal record, and Block was fifth (15.150). Kyson Bunthuwong, who only competed in three events, won high bar with a 15.100 and established a new career high.

#11 NEBRASKA (3-8) did not compete last week. The Huskers will return to action on March 14 at home against Iowa.

#15 AIR FORCE (4-13) dropped two close home matches to Illinois-Chicago, falling 333.100 to 334.400 and 340.200 to 340.400. Freshman Aaron Zaiser and senior Greg Stine tied for the lead on the floor exercise with matching marks of 14.850. The Falcons crushed the program standard on the floor, as their score of 58.100 upped the mark by nearly one point from the old mark of 57.150 that was tallied at Army. Junior Jacob Schonig matched his personal-best score of 15.500 to win the still rings. The Falcons also matched their program record on the vault with a score of 60.400. On the second night Air Force posted its best combined score of the season - 340.200. The Falcons posted two new event standards, as well as the team total. The Falcons upped the program standard on the floor exercise (58.350) and pommel horse (53.050), en route to the Academy-best team score of 340.200. In their final collegiate competition at Cadet West Gym, seniors Tyler Sickles and Greg Stine showcased program-best performances. Sickles posted a score of 13.600 to finish fourth on the pommel horse, while Stine won the still rings with a career-best tally of 15.700. Stine also won the floor exercise, high bar and all-around.

McNEIL NAMED MPSF GYMNAST OF THE WEEK Woodland, Calif. - Senior Tim McNeill had an excellent weekend at the annual Cal-Stanford meet in Stanford, Calif. The three-time national champion won parallel bars (15.450) and pommel horse (15.400). McNeill competed on rings for only the second time this season and notched a new career high of 15.00, taking second place overall. For the third meet, McNeill competed on vault and set a new personal record of 15.700. McNeill's performance on pommel horse, parallel bars and rings helped the Bears to edge the Cardinal on those events.
