AIR FORCE (2-16) scored a 189.550 in a loss to Alaska Anchorage (189.550) on March 14. The Falcons won the floor exercise (47.925). The meet was nearly a `neutral site' competition for both programs. Abbey Rogers won the floor exercise with a score of 9.825 - a mark just .025 shy of her personal-best, while Brittany Dutton tallied a combined score of 38.200 to take first in the all-around. Highlighted by two event victories from Rogers, Air Force cleared the 190-point plateau for its second victory of the season, defeating Alaska Anchorage 190.975 to 190.250 on Sunday, March 16. The 190.975 is the best Air Force combined score since the 2005 season. Rogers posted first-place finishes on the balance beam and floor exercise, en route to a winning total on the all-around. Rogers improved her overall total on beam to win the event with a mark of 9.700 - a score .100 better than the rest of the field. She also bettered the field by .100 to win the floor exercise, earning a score of 9.825. In addition, Rogers' winning all-around score of 38.825 was a personal improvement by .500.

ALASKA ANCHORAGE (4-10) outdistanced league Air Force for a 191.675-189.550 dual-meet victory on March 14. The Seawolves scored their season high for the third straight meet, led by a strong three-event performance from senior Jessica Portlock, who earned 9.7s on floor and vault, and a 9.725 on bars. Four Seawolves who set or equaled career-highs on the night. Junior co-captain Brooke Nall tied her best beam routine with a 9.725 and also stuck a career-best 9.4 on floor. Sophomore co-captain Meagan Byrne posted a 9.575 and freshman Kelsey Fullerton had a 9.75 on beam, while freshman Kristy Boswell delivered a 9.6 on floor for the other personal-best showings. UAA's team score was the fourth-highest in school history and the best ever in a home meet. On Sunday, March 16, Alaska Anchorage lost 190.975-190.250 to league rival Air Force. Jessica Portlock, had another fine match, tying her career-high with a 9.85 vault in her final home meet. Despite the loss, UAA was again sharp on bars, earning the fourth-best event score in school history with a 48.225. Six of UAA's top eight all-time bars totals have come this season.

SEATTLE PACIFIC (2-13) fell to University of Washington despite a strong overall performance by Falcon Anissa Madrid who tied for first on beam and fourth in the all-around competition. The Falcons finished with 188.525 against University of Washington's 194.450. Madrid marked a season-high and first place finish on beam with 9.775, and a strong 9.600 on vault to land her in fourth place in the all-around competition. Floor was the strongest event for the Falcons, totaling 47.600. Senior Brianna Steigauf led SPU on the event, placing second overall with 9.800 while Ashley Domres followed with 9.550.

UC DAVIS (9-9) finished fourth in a meet at Cal with a 191.325. San Jose State won the meet at 194.825 while the host Golden Bears scored 194.100 to Cal State Fullerton's 193.950 for second place. Michelle Kulovitz finished fourth in the all-around and was her team's lone top-three finisher, tying for third place on vault with a 9.800 score. Sophomore Lida Gehlen was the Aggies' next-highest placer, tying for fourth on uneven bars with a 9.825. Sophomore Michelle Bobonski and Tanya Ho each hit season-best marks on bars with scores of 9.800, sharing sixth place in the event. In fact, UC Davis fired out a season-high 48.725 on bars after hitting 48.525 on vault. Ho and freshman Stacey Nicolini also competed in the all-around during the meet. Ho compiled a 38.175, boosted by her 9.800 on bars. Nicolini recorded a 37.875 total, scoring 9.600s on both vault and bars.

ABBEY ROGERS NAMED MPSF GYMNAST OF THE WEEK Woodland, Calif. - Abbey Rogers of Air Force has been named the MPSF gymnast of the week. On Friday against Alaska Anchorage she won the floor exercise with a score of 9.825, just .025 shy of her personal-best. On Sunday at Alaska Anchorage Rogers won the balance beam, floor exercise and all-around, helping guide the Falcons to a team score of 190.975, the best team total since the 2005 season. Rogers scored a 9.825 for the season straight meet to win the floor exercise and improved her season-best score on the balance beam with a winning mark of 9.700. Both the beam and floor scores were .100 better than the rest of the field. She improved her all-around total by .500 with a winning tally of 38.825. Rogers paced the Falcons on the vault (9.650).
