CALIFORNIA erased a five-goal deficit to George Washington this past Thursday to pick up a 13-11 home win. The Bears were behind 10-5 with less than 20 minutes left in regulation, before scoring eight of the final nine goals in the game. Senior Danni Zuralow nailed a hat trick within that huge run, including two strikes in the last two minutes, and finished with four goals on the day. Junior Madeleine Dale had two goals and one assist. Cal embarks on a seven-game road swing, beginning at William & Mary Friday (Mar. 28) and Maryland-Baltimore County Sunday (Mar. 30).

ST. MARY'S picked up its first two wins of the season last week at the Spring Fling Tournament in West Palm Beach, FL, 18-8 over Central Connecticut State and 13-11 over Lafayette. Against the Leopards, the Gaels tallied four straight goals in the last 10 minutes to erase a 10-9 deficit. Sophomore Alana Burrough posted five goals and one assist. Junior Hilary Gardner recorded 11 of her 14 saves in the crease in the second half. SMC is next in action on Apr. 2, as California visits Moraga in an MPSF game.

DENVER routed Cincinnati 19-3 at home last Friday. The Pioneers rolled off 11 straight goals to start the game, in which sophomore Lexi Sanders nailed a hat trick within that stretch. Denver also scored the first six goals of the second half, as freshman Kristin Keravich put away her first three collegiate goals in that run. Junior Karen Morton dished out three assists on the day. Senior Megan Carver finished the week seven points, including the Mar. 17 win over Marist. The No. 19 Pioneers travel to Maryland this week, facing Rutgers in University Park Friday (Mar. 28) and then visiting Johns Hopkins Sunday (Mar. 30).

STANFORD fell short of another upset bid, 15-7 to No. 2 Maryland this past Saturday. The loss was the first for the Cardinal at home this year. Senior Daphne Patterson knocked in a hat trick, while senior goalkeeper Laura Shane tied a season-high 17 saves, 12 of which came in the second half. No. 10 Stanford travels to Virginia this week, facing William & Mary Tuesday (Mar. 25) and James Madison Saturday (Mar. 29). JMU received eight votes in this week's Inside Lacrosse Poll, No. 24 in the nation.

OREGON dropped a tough 10-9 decision to Johns Hopkins on a neutral site in San Diego this past Saturday. Senior Theresa Waldron scored a hat trick for the 7-3 Ducks. Junior goalkeeper Anna Popanyak picked up 10 saves in all 60 minutes. No. 14 Oregon heads to New York to face St. Bonaventure Wednesday (Mar. 26) and Colgate Sunday (Mar. 30).

UC DAVIS is coming off a 17-6 home win over Long Island Mar. 17. The Aggies turned a 6-4 halftime lead into a 17-6 rout, paced by seniors Katie McMahon and Katie McGovern with four goals each. McMahon added two assists, while sophomore Molly Lapolla contributed three goals and two assists. UC Davis hits the east coast this week against Le Moyne (Mar. 26), Canisius (Mar. 28), and Connecticut (Mar. 30).

ZURALOW AND SHANE EARN THIRD MPSF PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD Woodland, Calif. - California senior Danni Zuralow (Fairfax, VA) scored four goals in a 13-11 win over George Washington last Thursday. Down 10-5 with under 20 minutes to play in regulation, Zuralow knocked in three goals to lead the ensuing 8-1 run, and scored twice in the final two minutes to complete the comeback.....Stanford senior goalkeeper Laura Shane (Baltimore, MD) went up against one of the nation's top offenses, tying a season-high 17 saves against No. 2 Maryland. She helped pull the Cardinal to within two goals in the second half. This is the third conference honor in '08 for both Zuralow and Shane.
