Three Teams Post Season Highs

#8 NEBRASKA (2-5) placed second of three in Iowa City, IA, behind No. 6 Minnesota and ahead of No. 14 Iowa, with a season-high score (343.500). John Robinson won his first career All-Around Title (82.20), while T.J. Schmidt also took first on parallel bars (14.90). Tony Maras won a title on the rings (15.30) and placed fourth on vault. The Huskers had team-highs on bars (57.80), vault (61.45), floor (59.00) and rings (58.95). Nebraska is off until it visits No.1 Oklahoma on Feb. 28.
#14 AIR FORCE (3-8) recorded its season-high mark (330.800) at the All-Academy Championships in Portland, OR, Saturday (Feb. 14), meeting up with Army and Navy. This score bested the previous high by nearly two points. The Falcons placed second behind Navy, who won its second-straight title in this meet. Air Force partakes in the Pacific Coast Classic Saturday (Feb. 21).
#2 CALIFORNIA (4-0) defeated rival Stanford for the third time this year, recording a team score of 354.250. Cal improves to a perfect 4-0 on the year, and competes at the Pacific Coast Classic Saturday (Feb. 21) in Oakland. The competition will feature Stanford and Air Force from the MPSF, in addition to top-10 teams in Illinois, Michigan, and Minnesota.
#3 STANFORD (1-3) placed second to California at the Gold Country Classic in San Francisco on Saturday (Feb. 14), as Tim Gentry won a pair of event titles on the rings (15.25) and vault (16.4). The Cardinal posted a season-high score (354.000) competes at the Pacific Coast Classic Saturday (Feb. 21) in Oakland. The competition will feature California and Air Force from the MPSF, in addition to top-10 teams in Illinois, Michigan, and Minnesota.
#1 OKLAHOMA (3-0) was off this past week. The top-ranked Sooners return to the gym Saturday (Feb. 21) at home against 10th-ranked Iowa.
TIM GENTRY MPSF GYMNAST OF THE WEEK
Woodland, Calif. - Stanford sophomore Tim Gentry (Plano, TX) nailed four personal season-highs this past Saturday at the Gold Country Classic in San Francisco. He tied a team record on vault with a 16.4 (David Sender, '08) and recorded a 15.25 on the still rings, both good enough for event titles. Gentry added a 14.8 on the floor and 13.75 on the parallel bars.
