NO. 17 STANFORD (4-0 MPSF, 6-2 overall) picked up an MPSF road win last Friday, 18-7. Julie Christy scored four goals in the conference win and Amanda Schwab added three. Sunday, the Cardinal returned home and routed No. 20 William & Mary, 18-9. Lauren Schmidt tied a single-game school record by scoring six goals while Claire Hubbard did the same by dishing out five assists. Sarah Flynn added five goals and Dana Lindsay put in three. Stanford is off until March 27 and 29, when it visits Johns Hopkins and Maryland.

CALIFORNIA (2-0 MPSF, 4-3 overall) earned an MPSF victory on Sunday with a 13-6 outcome at home over UC Davis. The Bears jumped out to an 8-1 lead about halfway through the first half. Alex Tickner led all players with a career-high five goals, four coming in the first half. Sam Price and Tighe Hutchins each contributed three points on two goals and one assist. The Bears stay home for two non-conference games this week, taking on William & Mary Wednesday (Mar. 11) and Vermont Saturday (Mar. 14).

OREGON (2-1 MPSF, 4-2 overall) earned its first shutout in school history with a 20-0 conference win at home over Fresno State. Erin Chisnell scored the fastest goal in program history, 22 seconds into the game. Bina Barrett scored three goals. The Ducks also topped Vermont, 10-6. Tied at 4 at the half, UO used a 6-2 second half to seal the win. Catherine Davidson and Jana Drummond scored two goals each. Anna Poponyak collected 12 saves. Oregon hosts nationally-ranked Johns Hopkins Sunday (Mar. 15).

DENVER (0-0 MPSF, 4-4 overall) was defeated at home by No. 9 North Carolina Monday, 12-6. Six Pioneers' scored once, while Megan Carver was the point leader with three. She recorded one goal and two assists. Denver is off the rest of the week.

ST. MARY'S (0-2 MPSF, 1-4 overall) dropped an 18-7 MPSF home decision to No. 18 Stanford this past Friday. P.J. Hainley and Jessica Forster scored two goals apiece. The Gaels have one game this week, hosting Robert Morris Thursday (Mar. 12).

UC DAVIS (2-3 MPSF, 2-3 overall) fell 13-6 in MPSF action at California Sunday. Christina Corsa was the Aggie point leader with three on two goals and one assist. Gina Hoffmire also chipped in two goals. UC Davis is at home for two this week, facing Vermont Wednesday (Mar. 11) and Robert Morris Saturday (Mar. 14).

FRESNO STATE (0-4 MPSF, 0-5 overall) lost 20-0 at Oregon this past Friday. Goalkeeper Kohl Berry picked up seven saves. The Bulldogs continue their inaugural season Mar. 25 at Cincinnati and Mar. 27 at Detroit.

TICKNER AND SCHMIDT MPSF PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Woodland, Calif. -California junior midfielder Alex Tickner (Rockville, MD/Holton-Arms HS) led all players with a career-high five goals in a 13-6 MPSF home win over UC Davis this past Sunday. Tickner, who scored four of her goals in the first half to open Cal's lead to 9-4, also won this award last week for her hat trick in the narrow win at Temple.

Woodland, Calif. -Stanford junior midfielder Lauren Schmidt (Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore HS) tied a single-game school record with six goals this past Sunday, as the Cardinal routed No. 20 William & Mary, 18-9. She added one assist in the conference win at St. Mary's. Schmidt missed all of last season with a knee injury, and is currently in the top-five in the MPSF this year in goals, assists, and points per game.
