Oregon Downs Johns Hopkins for Fourth-Straight Win

OREGON (2-1 MPSF, 5-2 overall) ran its win streak to four straight with a 12-10 home victory over a solid Johns Hopkins team. The Blue Jays were ranked 19th nationally two weeks ago in the Inside Lacrosse Poll. The Ducks were down 9-5 with less than 17 minutes remaining in the game, and proceeded to use a 7-1 run to seal the win. Ilsa van den Berg nailed a natural hat trick (three straight goals) within a six minute stretch in that run, and totaled five goals and one assist on the day. Jess Drummond added two goals and one assist. Anna Poponyak collected nine saves in the crease. Oregon hosts Colgate Saturday (Mar. 21).

CALIFORNIA (2-0 MPSF, 4-5 overall) dropped a 17-11 home contest to William & Mary last Wednesday. Alex Tickner scored three goals and Sam Price added two goals and two assists. Price dished out four assists in Saturday's 15-11 loss to Vermont. Catie O'Mahoney posted a hat trick and Allie Shropshire registered 11 saves in goal off the bench. The Bears head to the Midwest this week to face nationally-ranked teams, No. 10 Notre Dame Sunday (Mar. 22) and No. 18 Ohio State Tuesday (Mar. 24).

UC DAVIS (2-3 MPSF, 2-6 overall) dropped a 20-12 decision at home to Vermont last Wednesday and a 13-8 outcome to Robert Morris Saturday. Gina Hoffmire, Patrice Clark, and Britt Farquharson each posted hat tricks vs. the Catamounts. Farquharson also had two assists in that game and delivered five goals, including a natural hat trick vs. RMU. The Aggies are off the rest of the week, and begins a five-game road trip starting Monday (Mar. 23) at Siena.

ST. MARY'S (0-2 MPSF, 1-5 overall) lost 15-9 at home to Robert Morris last Thursday. Goalkeeper Hilary Gardner recorded a career-high 18 saves and Amy Daniels delivered her first career hat trick. P.J. Hainley scored twice and Abbie Coleman dished out a pair of assists. The Gaels return to action Wednesday (Mar. 18) at home against Colgate.

DENVER (0-0 MPSF, 4-4 overall) was off this past week, after a Monday home loss to No. 9 North Carolina, 12-6. The Pioneers travel to Stony Brook Wednesday (Mar. 18) and Rutgers Friday (Mar. 20).

NO. 17 STANFORD (4-0 MPSF, 6-2 overall) was off this past week and next competes March 27 and 29, when it visits Johns Hopkins and No. 2 Maryland.

FRESNO STATE (0-4 MPSF, 0-5 overall) was off last week, and is next in action Mar. 25 at Cincinnati and Mar. 27 at Detroit.

ILSA VAN DEN BERG MPSF PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Woodland, Calif. -Oregon senior attacker Ilsa van den Berg (Reisterstown, MD) contributed five goals and one assist in a huge 12-10 home win over Johns Hopkins this past Sunday. The Blue Jays, who were ranked two weeks ago, led 9-5 midway through the second half. In the heavy rain, Van Den Berg put away a natural hat trick within a six minute time frame in the second stanza to lead the comeback win.
