All Four Teams Complete Final Tuneup for MPSF Championship

AIR FORCE (8-9) is the host of the 2009 MPSF Championship Meet, this Friday (Mar. 20) at 7 p.m. (MDT). The Falcons are coming off a dual meet score of189.425 at SE Missouri State last Saturday and a 190.850 at home vs. No. 25 Denver this Tuesday. The Falcons surpassed 190 for the second time this year and hit a season-high on the uneven bars (47.85). They also hit a season-high on the balance beam (47.55) at SEMSU, as freshman Jenna Dudley tallied a career-night in placing fifth on beam (9.725) and vault (9.675), both personal-high marks. She also came in third All-Around in both meets, 38.1 and 38.475.
ALASKA-ANCHORAGE (7-9) dropped a pair of dual meets at home to No. 24 Kentucky. In the first meet, Leah Wilson was second All-Around (38.675) and fifth on the uneven bars (9.75). Lauren Agostino was second on vault (9.9) and fourth on floor (9.8). On day two, the Seawolves posted their highest home score ever (193) and second-best of all-time. UAA also recorded its top vault mark of '09 (48.625) and its second-highest balance beam score in program history (48.375). Wilson had a career-high All-Around (38.975) and balance beam (9.825) to place second on that event. She also placed third on floor by tying her career-high (9.775). UAA competes in the MPSF Championship meet Saturday at Air Force.
UC DAVIS (7-11-1) placed third of four in a quad meet at Sac State with a team mark of 191.8, ahead of Seattle Pacific and behind Sac State and California. The Aggies nailed a season-best on vault (48.425), led by third-place ties (9.7) by Adee Schoffman, Tanya Ho, Marcy Miller, and Stacey Nicolini. UC Davis looks to defend its MPSF title this Saturday night in Colorado Springs, CO.
SEATTLE PACIFIC (1-17) took fourth in a quad meet at Sacramento State with a total score of 187.225. Sophomore Bri Steigauf finished tied for fourth on floor (9.8) with a second-best season-high. Brianna Schwartz placed sixth All-Around (37.975). The Falcons head to the MPSF Championships this week.
LEAH WILSON MPSF GYMNAST OF THE WEEK Woodland, Calif. -Alaska-Anchorage sophomore Leah Wilson (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) earned two of the top-eight All-Around scores in school history last weekend against No. 24 Kentucky. Sunday's 38.975 ranked second at UAA, while a beam score of 9.825 was No. 4 at UAA all-time on that event. Wilson also posted career-marks on floor (9.775) and bars (9.75). Her efforts on Sunday led the Seawolves to their highest home score ever (193).
