Stanford Hosts MPSF Championships

#1 STANFORD (7-4) set a season-high score (359.7) in a dual meet win over No. 11 Illinois-Chicago last Saturday in the final regular season contest. Josh Dixon won the floor (15.7) and high bar (15.1) titles and Sho Nakamori took first on pommel horse (14.8) and parallel bars (15.55). The Cardinal tallied a season-high on parallel bars (59.05). Tim Gentry won the still rings (15.4). Stanford is this year's host of the MPSF Championship Meet, Saturday (Apr. 4).
#2 OKLAHOMA (9-0) is back in action Saturday (April 4) at Stanford for the MPSF Championship, a meet the Sooners have won the last four years and nine of the last 10. OU delivered some history in its last meet on Mar. 21, breaking the all-time NCAA scoring record in a dual win over No. 8 Penn State. The Sooners broke their own NCAA mark set last year against Minnesota (364.6), posting a 366.85 and sweeping every event title, nailing season-bests on floor (62.15), pommel horse (59.25), still rings (60.85), vault (64.65), high bar (60.00), and parallel bars (59.95). Steven Legendre recorded individual first-place finishes on vault, floor, parallel bars, and All-Around (92.25), helping Oklahoma to an undefeated regular season.
#3 CALIFORNIA (9-1) last competed March 14 in a dual win at Penn State (355.15), and next competes at the MPSF Championship meet on Saturday, April 4 at Stanford.
#9 NEBRASKA (4-7) is in action Saturday (April 4) for the MPSF Championships in Palo Alto, CA. Last time out, the Huskers placed first of three (340.05) at Illinois-Chicago (Mar. 20), ahead of No. 15 Air Force and the host No. 11 Flames. NU claimed three individual titles, while seven earned a top-three finish. Josh Dilworth won the vault (15.85) and floor (15.0), while Anthony Ingrelli tied for first on the still rings (14.7). Runner-up results went to Josh Rusler on high bar (13.75), James Mauldin on pommel horse (13.75), and Kyle Shanahan on parallel bars (14.25) and floor (14.7). Shanahan was also third on high bar (13.7), while Cory Baumgarten (15.25) and John Robinson (81.8) took the bronze on vault and All-Around, respectively.
#15 AIR FORCE (4-15) was represented at the USA Collegiate Championships in Williamsburg, Va., by senior Jake Schonig. He claimed his second consecutive national title on the still rings. Schonig guided the Falcons to a third-place finish on Friday with a career-high (15.65), third-highest in Falcon history. Saturday, he won the rings title with a 15.5, and for his efforts, earned the USAG Outstanding Senior Award.

Woodland, Calif. - Air Force senior Jake Schonig (Los Gatos, CA) claimed his second consecutive national title on the still rings at the USA Collegiate Championships over the weekend in Williamsburg, VA. Schonig guided the Falcons to a third-place team finish on Friday with a career-high (15.65), second-highest in Academy history. Saturday, he won the rings title with a 15.5, and for his efforts, earned the USAG Outstanding Senior Award.
