DuFault and Alexander Named MPSF Molten Players of the Week

Woodland, Calif. - UC Irvine sophomore outside hitter Jordan DuFault (Lakewood, CA/St. John Bosco HS) led the way in two monumental home wins last week. In a 3-1 win over No. 4 USC, he recorded 17 kills with a .500 attack, adding three blocks and six digs. In a 3-0 sweep over top-ranked Pepperdine, DuFault tallied 14 kills with a .480 clip. He averaged 4.43 kills with a .491 hitting percentage (31-3-57) for the week, helping put UCI in control of its own fate towards a No. 1 MPSF Tournament seed and home court.

Woodland, Calif. - Long Beach State junior middle blocker Dan Alexander (Arcadia, CA/Arcadia HS) played an important role towards two MPSF home wins, including a 49er upset over No. 3 CS Northridge and clinching a postseason appearance. He had 10 kills (.467), two of which closed out the first two sets, along with two aces and six blocks vs. CSUN. In a win over UCSB, he added 10 kills in 17 errorless swings (.588), again posting two aces and six blocks.
