UC DAVIS (8-1) senior Kendall McCann nailed career-highs on both the balance beam (9.80) and all-around (38.700) for a pair of individual titles, as the Aggies scored a 193.175 in an MPSF dual win at home over Alaska-Anchorage (190.200). McCann also hit a personal-best on floor (9.775). Marcy Miller and Lida Gehlen tied for the uneven bars title (9.775) and Erika Van Dyke posted her second straight top floor score in a career-effort (9.85). Other career-marks included Miller's second-place all-around (38.250) and Michele Hurlock's third-place vault (9.725). UC Davis travels to CS Fullerton Sunday (Feb. 21) for another dual meet.
ALASKA-ANCHORAGE (0-10) hit a season-high team score of 190.200 in its dual loss at UC Davis. Senior Meagan Byrne and sophomores Shakea Sanders and Kaelei Spoor all posted career-nights for the Seawolves. UAA hit a season-high on vault (48.475), good for the sixth best outing in team history. Sanders led that effort with a 2010 UAA-best score (9.80). Spoor (9.675) and Courtney Williams (9.725) tied their career-highs on vault. Spoor also hit personal-highs on beam (9.8) and a second-place floor (9.75). Byrne tallied a career-all-around with a 37.375. UAA hosts Brown for a pair of duals this weekend (Feb. 19 & 21).
SEATTLE PACIFIC (0-8) received a third-place uneven bars performance from Samantha Taylor (9.775), along with a fourth-place and career-high all-around (38.275), as the Falcons finished third in a season-best total (190.500) with Boise State and Sacramento State last Friday in Boise, ID. Other top-five Seattle Pacific outings included Anissa Madrid's fifth-place all-around (38.225) and fourth-place beam with a season-best (9.70), as well as Brittany Malone and Sherah Veron's 9.80 fifth-place floor efforts. The Falcons visit Denver Friday and Air Force Saturday.
AIR FORCE (4-9) is back in action Saturday (Feb. 20), when it hosts Southeast Missouri State and MPSF opponent Seattle Pacific. The Falcons are coming off a bye week.
