Semifinal Matchups Set in Women's Lacrosse Tournament

Stanford 16, Fresno State 1
Stanford's Dana Lindsay scored five goals as the No. 15 Cardinal defeated Fresno State 16-1 in the first quarterfinal game of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament on Thursday afternoon at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.

Lindsay scored four of her goals in the first half as the Cardinal built a 12-1 lead. Stanford's Sarah Flynn tallied two goals and one assist, while Claire Hubbard scored one goal and had two assists in the victory. Leslie Foard also added two goals.

Margaret Wolford scored off of a Sara Weber pass to score Fresno State's only goal.

Stanford's Annie Read made 10 saves to earn the victory, while Diana Aguilar made 16 saves for Fresno.

California 20, St. Mary's 11
Led by Vail Horn's seven goals, the California Golden Bears advance to the semifinals of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament after defeating St. Mary's 20-11 in the quarterfinals on Thursday afternoon at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.

In addition to Horn's offensive effort, Alyse Kennedy tallied four goals and an assist and Tara Arolla posted two goals with three assists for the Bears. Horn's seven goals tied the Cal single-game goals record, which was originally set in 2000 by Sarah Wheatley against Denver. Molly Brady tied it in 2004, also against Denver.

St. Mary's Mariah Walk recorded four goals, while Caroline Mahony scored two goals with one assist and Maggie Schwab scored two goals for the Gaels.

Cal's Allie Shropshire and St. Mary's Whitney Campitiello each made four saves in the game.

UC Davis 13, Oregon 11
Despite trailing until 6:22 remaining in the game, the UC Davis Aggies defeated the Oregon Ducks 13-11 on Thursday evening at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium to advance to the semifinals of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament.

Christina Corsa led the Aggies to a comeback victory with five goals and two assists for seven total points on the evening. Also contributing for UC Davis was Gina Hoffmire, who added four goals.

Alex Breiner led the Ducks' offense, scoring three goals and adding two assists. Dominique Christiansen also added a hat trick for Oregon.

UC Davis goalies Kjersten Nordmeyer and Alyssa Cranska split netminding duties for the Aggies, each recording 4 saves.
