UC DAVIS recorded a season-high team score of 194.050 at home this past Sunday to California's 191.500. Erika Van Dyke and Anna Shumaker each posted a pair of titles, with the former taking beam (9.775) and floor (9.85) and the latter winning on vault (9.775) and bars (9.80). Marcy Miller (38.825) and Stacey Nicolini (38.775) accumulated career-high all-arounds in going 1-2. Michelle Ho matched Van Dyke's top floor routine and Jessica Rea shared top honors with Shumaker. UC Davis travels to Oregon State Friday (Feb. 25) to take on the Beavers, Washington, and San Jose State in a quad.
SEATTLE PACIFIC Texie Gregory recorded career-highs in two events and the all-around (37.875) in leading a third place finish at the Illinois State quad last Friday. She earned a 9.65 on floor and 9.55 on bars. Bri Steigauf tied for third on floor (9.775) and Sam Taylor was fifth on bars (9.675). SPU posted its fifth straight total of over 190 (190.825). The home finale is Friday against Air Force.
AIR FORCE senior Lisa Wong shared a beam title (9.55) and freshman Jen Larsen displayed a career-best floor (9.625) to place second in a dual at Eastern Michigan last Saturday. Larsen was also fifth on bars (9.55) and Junior Samantha Jones finished fourth on vault (9.60). Air Force heads to MPSF Opponent Seattle Pacific for a dual this Friday.
ALASKA-ANCHORAGE was off last week, and is another quad against SE Missouri, Eastern Michigan, and the host Central Michigan Thursday (Feb. 24). The Seawolves turned in a season-best 190.475 team score, placing fourth at New Hampshire's quad on Feb. 12. UAA also combined for season-bests on floor, bars (47.550) and beam (47.325). The vault total (48.450) was also ninth-best in program history, guided by a fifth place tie from Shakea Sanders (9.75). Kaelei Spoor posted a 9.725 on floor and Emily Petersen a 9.625 on beam.
MARCY MILLER MPSF GYMNAST OF THE WEEK
UC Davis senior Marcy Miller (Huntington Beach, CA) tallied a first place and career all-around (38.825) in a dual win over California, leading the Aggies to a season-high team score (194.050). Miller recorded a pair of bronze routines with a 9.775 bars and a 9.675 vault. She also tied for fourth on floor (9.775) while adding a 9.60 beam score. This is Miller's fourth weekly MPSF honor this year.
