Stanford Captures Fifth NCAA Title

#1 STANFORD accumulated a team score of 363.450 to win its fifth national championship, and second in the last three years, this past Friday in Columbus, OH. Stanford also became the second university to reach 100 all-time NCAA Titles. Alex Buscaglia shared a pair of individual crowns, taking high bar (15.400) and vault (16.350). Tim Gentry earned the silver on still rings (15.800) and fourth on vault (16.250). Eddie Penev was a bronze finisher on floor (15.95), as was Ryan Lieberman and Cameron Foreman on parallel bars (15.200).
#2 OKLAHOMA finished second at the NCAA Championship Meet (361.600), as Alex Naddour placed third all-around (89.750) and fourth on vault (16.250). Steven Legendre claimed the floor title (16.200), en route to fourth all-around (89.700). Jake Dalton was runner-up on floor (16.000) and posted a pair of top-six routines on high bar (14.900, 5th) and parallel bars (15.100, 6th).
#4 CALIFORNIA placed fourth in the NCAA Finals with a score of 358.700. The Bears dominated the pommel horse, placing three in the top-five. Glen Ishino was second (15.100), followed by Donothan Bailey in fourth (14.650) and Bryan Del Castillo in fifth (14.600). Del Castillo was also tied for fifth all-around (89.350). Kyle Bunthuwong shared the bronze on high bar (15.100) and Steven Lacombe was fourth on rings (15.500).
#10 NEBRASKA Andreas Hofer shared 11th all-around (87.200), 13th on parallel bars (14.900), and 15th on vault (15.850) in Friday's NCAA team finals. He was also amongst the top-five in Thursday's qualifier (85.650). Anthony Ingrelli finished 14th on rings (15.100) in the finals, on the heels of Thursday's third place showing in the qualifier (15.450). Bear Danley was the top Husker on high bar (14.750), good for 17th.
#12 AIR FORCE sophomore Tory Brown turned in a 15th place vault (15.850) during NCAA Prelims, out of 51 competitors. This marked the highest individual finish of any service academy gymnast. Brown had recently tied the Air Force vault record with a career-high (15.950). James Okamoto competed on the horse where he was 26th (13.750). Senior Aaron Zaiser posted his second best score of the season on floor (14.750), tying for 31st.
