WOODLAND, Calif. -- KAP7 International, Inc (KAP7) has entered a three-year partnership agreement with the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) to become the official and exclusive game ball provider for both men's and women's water polo. KAP7 will additionally sponsor the MPSF Men's and Women's Water Polo Championships, November 25-27, 2011 at UCLA and April 27-29, 2012 at Stanford, respectively, as well as the athletes of the week throughout each gender's season. KAP7 has previously reached similar partnerships with the NCAA, Collegiate Water Polo Association, and USA Water Polo. In 2007, the company's ball was initially implemented by nearly 300 national varsity and club programs from the CWPA, and recently became the official ball for eight different national and league finals, including the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Championships. Five different sizes of balls are offered by KAP7, though the 104 and 105 brands will be specifically used in all NCAA competition.
KAP7 International, Inc was founded in 2004 by former United States Olympians Bradley Schumacher and Wolf Wigo (also the current UC Santa Barbara Head Coach), and is now comprised of five former collegiate athletes. Combined, they own seven NCAA Water Polo Titles and have participated in three NCAA Swimming Championships. "Built by water polo players, for water polo players," KAP7 has served the purpose of designing and building innovative world class products with extreme care and quality for water polo communities around the globe.
"The MPSF is pleased to enter into a partnership with KAP7 as our new official water polo ball sponsor," says MPSF Executive Director Al Beaird. "Our men's and women's coaches have embraced KAP7's HydroGrip technology for superior control and durability. Since KAP7 is also the official NCAA ball, MPSF teams will be playing with KAP7 balls in all games involving Federation teams for the foreseeable future. The high level collegiate and international playing principals of KAP7 which Wigo, Schumacher, and [CEO] Todd Snider have translated into a superior product line will serve MPSF student-athletes and the collegiate game well."
In addition to intercollegiate and club water polo balls, KAP7 products include mini-sized balls and junior balls for beginning players to assist with ball-handling skills, proper fundamental shooting, and goalkeeper training. Nylon ball bags, turbo age group and standard water polo caps, full size inflatable water polo goals, instructional DVD's, and dry/erase boards are amongst other KAP7 products on the current market.
