Yamamura Lifts Aggies to Season-High

UC DAVIS Katie Yamamura won the vault (9.85) and shared the beam crown (9.70), en route to a career all-around title (39.125), as the Aggies placed second of three at home. The UCD season-high (191.600) was narrowly behind California (191.750) and ahead of Seattle Pacific (189.275). Yamamura added second place routines on floor (9.80) and bars (9.775). Anna Shumaker tied for second on vault (9.725) and Tiana Montell was third in her all-around debut (38.000). UCD takes on Cal again this week, Sunday (Feb. 5) in Berkeley.
AIR FORCE (190.925) placed second of three at Denver, behind the host No. 18 Pioneers (195.400) and ahead of Centenary (187.250). Freshman Jessica Wallander turned in the top Falcon finish, second on vault with a career-high (9.825). Jen Larsen was fourth all-around (38.550). Air Force visits MPSF opponent Seattle Pacific for a Friday (Feb. 3) dual.
SEATTLE PACIFIC posted a pair of top-five results in the tri-meet at UC Davis, as the Falcons scored 189.275. Stephanie Wagner placed third on beam with a career-high (9.675) and Sherah Veron tied for fifth on vault (9.675). Seattle Pacific hosts Air Force Friday (Feb. 3) in dual action.
ALASKA-ANCHORAGE was off last week and visits Denver Saturday (Feb. 4). On Jan. 20, the Seawolves had a team score of 185.900 at Maryland. Melissa Doucette was third all-around with a career-high (38.375), fourth on vault (9.75), and fifth on floor (9.775). UAA posted a season-best floor (47.950). Doucette then posted another third place and career all-around at Towson (38.400) on Jan. 22, leading a win over William & Mary with 187.875.

UC Davis junior Katie Yamamura (Palo Alto, CA) scored a career-high 39.125 to win the all-around in the triangular with Cal and Seattle Pacific. She won the vault (9.850), more than a tenth ahead of the nearest competitor, placed second on bars (9.775), tied for the beam win (9.700), and finished second on floor (9.800).
