Oklahoma Wins Tri-Meet at Cal

#1 OKLAHOMA claimed a tri-meet victory at California, placing ahead of Stanford and the host Bears. The Sooners totaled 351.600, winning floor (59.500) and rings (60.300) along the way. Jake Dalton was second all-around (86.700), backed by a floor title (15.600), runner-up rings routine (15.200), and third-place on high bar (15.000). Chris Stehl shared second on rings with Dalton. Oklahoma swept the top-four spots on floor, with Alec Robin taking second (14.800).

#5 CALIFORNIA Glen Ishino won pommel horse (15.700), Donothan Bailey won parallel bars (15.000) and his first all-around (87.300) of 2012, and Jacob Jizrawi (15.300) took the high bar title, as the Bears (349.400) placed ahead of Stanford and behind Oklahoma in the tri-meet. Dennis Mannhart was the runner-up on two events, on high bar (15.200) and p-bars (14.400). Cal won four team events, including p-bars, vault, horse, and high bar. The Bears visit Stanford Saturday (Feb. 18).

#4 STANFORD scored 343.700 in the tri-meet at California. Jordan Nolff claimed the rings title (15.300). Chris Turner was second on horse (14.900). Eddie Penev (15.500) and Sean Senters (15.100) went 1-2 on vault, as Penev finished third all-around (85.400). The Cardinal host California Saturday (Feb. 18).

#9 AIR FORCE has not yet competed in February, next in action on Saturday at the All-Academy Championships in San Jose, CA. Last time out on Jan. 28, the Falcons recorded a season-high 337.700 in a dual at No. 8 Minnesota (345.400). Devin Menefee delivered a winning 15.000 on rings and Mac Ritchie tied for the top high bar display as well as tying a career-high (14.400). Nick Guadlip and Josh Ramos shared second on floor with career-bests (14.600). Tory Brown posted a career-best on vault (14.300) to tie for third with Ben Zaiser.

RUBIN, BAILEY MPSF GYMNASTS OF THE WEEK
Oklahomafreshman Jacoby Rubin(Buffalo Grove, IL) claimed third on pommel horse and eighth on high bar (14.500) and parallel bars (14.100) in a road meet that featured three of the top five teams in the country. His 14.800 on horse is a career-best and the second highest score this season by a Sooner on the apparatus. Rubin's career-high routine led OU to a 57.500 horse total, its best this year.

Californiajunior Donothan Bailey(Lake Forest, CA) won parallel bars (14.100) and the all-around (87.300), leading the Bears to a second-place finish in a tri-meet against top-ranked Oklahoma and No. 4 Stanford. He added a seventh-place vault (14.800) and floor (14.300), and sixth-place horse (14.500).
