SPU Soars to Season Bests

SEATTLE PACIFIC won a home dual against MPSF opponent Air Force, 192.575-188.925. SPU swept all four event titles en route to the season-high score, and best since the 2010 MPSF Meet. Stephanie Wagner posted wins and career-marks on floor (9.80) and beam (9.825). Texie Gregory took bars (9.725) and Lari Wilson displayed the top vault (9.725), also career-highs. SPU's totals on floor (48.475), beam (48.275), and bars (47.775) were all season-bests. The Falcons travel to Illinois State for a quad meet Friday (Feb. 10) and Illinois-Chicago Saturday (Feb. 11).

UC DAVIS Katie Yamamura claimed titles on floor (9.80) and all-around (38.375) in Sunday's dual at California, won by the Bears (193.275-190.625). She also chipped in a third place vault (9.775) and a career-high uneven bars (9.825). Anna Shumaker shared the vault crown (9.85) on a career-effort. Michelle Ho was second on floor (9.775) and Tiana Montell third all-around (37.925). UCD returns home for a tri-meet with Oregon State and Sacramento State Friday (Feb. 10).

AIR FORCE placed second (188.925) at Seattle Pacific last Friday with its second highest score of the season. Air Force registered three runner-up routines, as Jessica Hanner had the squad's best score of the night, a 9.725 on beam. Jen Larsen's uneven bars (9.675) and Jessica Wallander's vault (9.70) also placed second. The Falcons face another MPSF opponent at Alaska-Anchorage Sunday.

ALASKA-ANCHORAGE totaled 188.050, its second-highest of the season, and third to host No. 15 Denver and Iowa State. Sariaye Jensen was seventh all-around (37.075) and on bars (9.75). Melissa Doucette recorded a career-high beam (9.625) and a 9.725 vault. The Seawolves host Air Force Sunday in a dual.

UC Davis junior Katie Yamamura (Palo Alto, CA) claimed titles on floor (9.80) and all-around (38.375) in the dual at California. She also chipped in a third place vault (9.775) and a career-high and fourth place uneven bars routine (9.825).

Seattle Pacific junior Stephanie Wagner (Estacada, OR) won the beam (9.825) and floor (9.80) to lead a sweep of all four event titles over Air Force, en route to the team's best score since 2010 (192.575). Both her wins were career-high marks, while also adding a seventh place uneven bars (9.40).
