MPSF Men's Gymnastics Release - 3/13/12

#2 STANFORD won a pair of duals at No. 5 Ohio State (355.800-347.400) and No. 14 Illinois-Chicago (355.500-337.800) to close the regular season. Cale Robinson posted season-highs on floor (15.500) and parallel bars (15.000) at UIC and vault at Ohio State (15.500). He placed second on floor, p-bars, and vault at UIC, while winning vault (15.500) and p-bars (14.800) at OSU. Cameron Foreman recorded a title in each meet, backed by a pair of season-high 15.200 scores, on p-bars vs. UIC and high bar vs. OSU.

#1 OKLAHOMA totaled over 355 for the third consecutive meet and swept all six events in their win over eighth-ranked Michigan, 355.500-348.950. Jake Dalton claimed three individual event titles on floor (16.050), vault (15.550) and parallel bars (15.350), while adding a second-place high bar (14.900) and third-place rings routine (15.100), en route to finishing second all-around (90.000). Chris Stehl took the rings title (15.400). The Sooners host a tri-meet Saturday (Mar. 17) against Air Force and Nebraska.

#11 AIR FORCE claimed five event titles in an easy 335.600-321.600 dual win at No. 17 Arizona State. Tyler Huebner won rings (14.500), as well as Ben Zaiser on vault (14.500), Tory Brown on high bar (14.200), James Okamoto on horse (14.100), and Josh Ramos and Patrick Duffy on floor (14.400). The Falcons conclude the regular season Saturday (Mar. 17) at top-ranked Oklahoma.

#8 CALIFORNIA is off until Mar. 24, when it hosts Illinois-Chicago. The Bears narrowly defeating No. 4 Stanford (344.900-343.600) last time out on Feb. 18 in Palo Alto. Also competing in the meet was a team of Japanese all-stars. Cal claimed four team titles on the night. Dennis Mannhart won parallel bars (15.200) and Donothan Bailey was second all-around (87.200) and floor (15.100). Matthew Del Junco was third on horse (14.800).

ROBINSON, DALTON - MPSF GYMNASTS OF THE WEEK

Oklahoma junior Jake Dalton (Reno, NV) claimed three individual event titles on floor (16.050), vault (15.550) and parallel bars (15.350) as the Sooners continued their hot streak with a 355.500-348.950 win over No. 8 Michigan.
