RECORD BOOK MEETS IN THE MPSF
UC DAVIS Michelle Ho was a double-event winner last Friday against California, taking bars (9.85) and floor (9.925). Ho's floor mark was the highest for any MPSF female gymnast, on any apparatus, since 2005 (Dominique Ingram-UAA, Stephanie Aeder-Sac State; both 9.925 on floor). Further, it was the best Aggie score since Tiffany Chan's 9.95 floor at the '04 MPSF Championship Meet. Ho's floor also guided a 49.100 team floor, ninth best in school history and highest since the '04 conference meet.
ALASKA-ANCHORAGE accumulated a vault of 48.325 at Bridgeport, 10th-highest in program history, led by M'rcy Matsunami's 9.80. The Seawolves totaled 191.550 points in their second meet against Rutgers and Yale, good for No. 15 among the program's top scores. Matsunami became just the fourth Seawolf to post a 9.85 on vault. UAA improved by more than four points over its opener, boosted by the No. 2 beam score (48.400) and the No. 5 vault score (48.500) in program history.
AIR FORCE tallied its highest season-opening score of the Doug Day era (191.025) in a dual at 20th-ranked Denver (196.600) last Saturday. With matching fifth-place finishes, Jen Larsen and Jessica Wallander tied for the Falcons' best individual finishes, with the former scoring a career-best 9.80 on floor, and the latter a 9.775 on vault.
SEATTLE PACIFIC Maria Hundley chipped in the highest Falcon placement in the season opener at Sacramento State last Friday, displaying a second-place 9.80 beam routine. Shannon Escarra competed all-around, with a 36.475 total, guided by a pair of 9.675's on floor and bars.
