ALASKA-ANCHORAGE M'rcy Matsunami won the all-around both nights against Seattle Pacific. Friday, she scored a 38.675, boosted by a 9.85 vault, to help UAA defeat SPU in a dual meet for the first time ever (191.675-191.575). Emily Petersen had a 9.825 night two beam routine, tying a career-high and placing her fifth all-time at UAA in that event. She also had a 9.825 Friday Bars' routine, also fifth all-time at UAA.
UC DAVIS Katie Yamamura (39.050) and Anna Shumaker (38.875) finished 1-2 all-around in leading the Aggies to a first-place 2013-high 193.725 at last Saturday's Air Force quad. UCD finished one-half point ahead of second-place Air Force, its closest competitor, followed by Missouri and Texas Woman's. The Aggie team score is the best ever for the program in a January meet. Michelle Ho shared the floor title (9.80), and Yamamura also shared the runner-up spot on beam (9.825). UC Davis hosts Seattle Pacific Friday (Feb. 1).
AIR FORCE accumulated a team score of 193.225, its highest in two years, finishing second in last Saturday's home quad. Linnaea Hance matched her career-best on the floor (9.80) to tie for first, as the Falcons collected the second-highest total of the Doug Day era (2011-193.300 vs. Denver). Jessica Wallander took third on floor (9.775), as did Jen Larsen all-around (38.625). Air Force visits Denver Saturday (Feb. 2) to face the host Pioneers, North Carolina, and San Jose State.
SEATTLE PACIFIC Stephanie Wagner shared a floor title (9.775) and won the beam outright (9.825) in the first dual at Alaska-Anchorage. Night two saw the Falcons avenge a narrow loss the night before, totaling a season-high 192.225. Wagner again won the floor (9.725) and Sydney Clark had three runner-up outcomes, on floor (9.70), beam (9.775), and all-around (38.725). SPU travels to UC Davis for a Friday dual (Feb. 1).

Alaska-Anchorage freshman M'rcy Matsunami (Omaha, NE) won the all-around both nights in duals against Seattle Pacific, posting three scores of 9.8 or better. Friday, she scored a 38.675, boosted by a 9.85 vault, to help UAA defeat SPU in a dual meet for the first time ever. She also had a 9.75 on bars and a 9.7 on beam in that meet.
