SDSU Wins at Oregon; Denver Streak Reaches Seven

SAN DIEGO STATE (2-0 MPSF, 6-2 Overall) posted one of its biggest wins since the inception of the program, 12-10 at reigning MPSF Champion Oregon. The Aztecs were down 10-9 inside of 10 minutes to play, before scoring the final three goals, two coming from Sophie Koubek. Meris Walsh delivered a game-high four goals and Sammy Slattery collected 10 saves.

DENVER (1-0 MPSF, 9-1 Overall) Jill Remenapp recorded a game-high seven points off a hat trick and four assists, in the 13-8 win at Vermont. She added two goals and three assists in the 16-8 win at Holy Cross, to lead DU to its seventh straight win. Remenapp continues to lead the NCAA in assists (37). Hannah Hook combined for 20 saves with a .556 save percentage in the two wins.

CALIFORNIA (3-0 MPSF, 4-3 Overall) Megan Takacs recorded 11 draw controls in last Tuesday's 16-8 MPSF win at Fresno State, tying for second all-time in the conference. Takacs and Alexa Rozelle scored four goals apiece, the latter posting a natural hat trick in a span of less than three minutes in the first half. Gaby Christman also scored three goals to help Cal go to 3-0 in MPSF.

UC DAVIS (0-3 MPSF, 3-5 Overall) Elizabeth Datino scored seven goals in a 23-6 rout at Howard on Monday (Mar. 25). The Aggies stay on the east coast this week to face Navy and Drexel.

USC (2-1 MPSF, 5-7 Overall) came up short at Bryant (15-8) and Brown (9-8, OT) last week. Amanda Johansen recorded three goals and an assist against the Bears. The Trojans return to MPSF action at home Sunday (Mar. 31) against Denver.

OREGON (0-1 MPSF, 4-4 Overall) Sami Kiser had a hat trick and Shannon Propst three assists against San Diego State. The Ducks travel to Connecticut for a Tuesday (Mar. 26) game, followed by a visit to Old Dominion Saturday (Mar. 30).

# 14 STANFORD (1-0 MPSF, 4-2 Overall) returns to the field Tuesday (Mar. 26) at Vanderbilt. The Cardinal won their MPSF opener on Mar. 8, 17-12 over USC, followed by a 14-10 win over Temple on Mar. 10.

ST. MARY'S (1-3 MPSF, 2-5 Overall) Jillian Chong scored four goals and had two assists at St. Joseph's, then had one goal and three assists at Sacred Heart. She also had a combined eight draw controls. SMC visits Brown and hosts Stetson this week.

FRESNO STATE (0-2 MPSF, 1-5 Overall) Kara Concheck recorded three goals and two assists against California. The Bulldogs travel to Stony Brook and Manhattan this week.

MEGAN TAKACS MPSF OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

California senior attacker Megan Takacs (Chagrin Falls, OH) recorded 11 draw controls in the 16-8 win over Fresno State, tying for second in the MPSF single-game record book. HANNAH HOOK MPSF DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Denver sophomore goalkeeper Hannah Hook (Arnold, PA) made a combined 20 saves with a .556 save percentage in a pair of wins in New England last week. Hook made nine saves at Vermont and 11 at Holy Cross, while allowing just eight goals in each game. Hook, who entered the week ranked second in the nation in save percentage, seventh in saves and 13th in goals-against average, improved to 9-1 with a .534 save percentage and 8.04 goals-against this season. San Diego State freshman midfield Felice Artuso (Westminster, MD) scored a goal and recorded a draw control in the 12-10 road win over Oregon on Saturday. Artuso's score came at a pivotal time in the second half, as she broke an 8-8 tie to put the Aztecs ahead by one with 16:08 remaining....
