Denver Stays On Top With Two More Wins

# 20 DENVER (5-0 MPSF, 13-1 Overall) got past No. 10 Stanford, 14-10, and held off UC Davis, 13-11, both at home this past weekend to extend the win streak to 11. Kate Henrich caused a total of 14 turnovers over the two wins, eight against the Cardinal, tying the MPSF single-game record. Entering this week, she owns 53 in 2013, a new single-season conference record. Kara Secora combined for 13 points on six goals and seven assists, putting away the game-winner in each contest.
USC (3-2 MPSF, 6-8 Overall) Caroline Cordrey recorded four goals, while Caroline de Lyra added three goals and three assists (one each to break a 10-10 tie in the final 10:39), in the 12-10 win at Oregon. The Trojans host California Friday (Apr. 12).
CALIFORNIA (4-0 MPSF, 7-4 Overall) Megan Takacs put away four goals and Grace Parente picked up six ground balls in Sunday's 14-10 win at Oregon, as the Bears remain undefeated in MPSF play. Takacs now sits in second all-time at Cal in career goals (129), 16 shy of the record. Cal heads to USC and San Diego State this week.
# 10 STANFORD (2-1 MPSF, 7-3 Overall) Hannah Farr delivered four goals and had an assist in last Tuesday's 21-8 win over Fresno State. Julia Burns also had a five-point game on a hat trick and two assists.
SAN DIEGO STATE (3-1 MPSF, 8-4 Overall) Bailey Ewing had three goals in each of the three games last week, including wins away from home over Detroit and Fresno State. Felice Artuso had an eight-draw control game in each of those wins.
UC DAVIS (0-4 MPSF, 3-8 Overall) Elizabeth Datino scored three goals and Elizabeth Landry had four points and nine draw controls as the Aggies came within two goals of No. 20 Denver. Mary Doyle added two goals and six draw controls.
FRESNO STATE (0-4 MPSF, 2-9 Overall) Paula Badali recorded a game-high five goals against San Diego State, tied for second in Bulldog history, and was seven-for-seven on shots over two games. The Bulldogs host Oregon and UC Davis this week.
OREGON (0-3 MPSF, 5-7 Overall) Hayley Milner posted a game-high five goals against USC, before Carly O'Connell combined for a career-high seven points vs. Cal, on four goals and three assists. The Ducks visit Fresno State and host St. Mary's this week.
ST. MARY'S (1-3 MPSF, 3-6 Overall) Jillian Chong, in a 19-2 win over Stetson on Mar. 29, had four goals, two assists, two ground balls and six draw controls. The Gaels host Stanford Wednesday and travel to Oregon Sunday.

Denver senior attacker Kara Secora (Denver, CO) tallied 13 points off six goals and seven assists in a pair of victories last week, which stretched DU's winning streak to 11 games. Secora scored the game-winning goal against both No. 10 Stanford and UC Davis. She had a goal, three assists, two draw controls and a caused turnover against the Cardinal, before a five -goals, four-assist outing against the Aggies. Denver senior defender Kate Henrich (Lansdale, PA) tied the DU and MPSF single-game record with eight caused turnovers in a win against No. 10 Stanford and followed up with six more caused turnovers in a victory over UC Davis. In the process, Henrich broke her own Denver and MPSF single-season records with 53 caused turnovers this season and is on pace to lead the nation for the second-straight season with 3.79 per game.
