PRESTEN ELLSWORTH - JUNIOR - OKLAHOMA - ALLEN, TX
Oklahoma junior Presten Ellsworth (Allen, TX), won three event titles in 2013, including tying for the conference championship on parallel bars with a 14.800. It is the first conference title for Ellsworth. He also won vault titles at the Metroplex Challenge on Jan. 25 and at Nebraska on March 3. Ellsworth posted career-highs of 15.500 on floor at the Stanford Open on Jan. 19, 14.950 on parallel bars vs. Air Force on Feb. 23 and a 14.900 on still rings at the Metroplex Challenge on Jan. 25. His 15.100 on vault at the Metroplex Challenge was a season-high. In the national rankings, Ellsworth is ranked ninth on floor with a 15.167 four score average and 18th on parallel bars with a 14.617.
2013 MPSF Coach of the Year
MARK WILLIAMS - HEAD COACH - OKLAHOMA - 14TH YEAR
Oklahoma head coach Mark Williams guided the Sooners to defense of the MPSF Championship, the 11th conference title in the 14 years at the helm of the program. Oklahoma went 16-1 this season, with a 17-man roster of just two juniors and two seniors, bringing Williams' career record to 338-31 (.916). As of April 1, the Sooners are ranked in the top-three nationally in four events, in addition to a No. 2 overall rank. Williams has coached five national title teams in the last 11 years, along with 12 consecutive top-three NCAA finishes. Williams has also overseen 24 individual national champions, 137 All-American honors, 47 individual conference champions (including five in 2013) and three Nissen Emery Award winners. This marks the 10th MPSF Coach of the Year honor for Williams, out of a possible 14 years as head coach.
