MPSF Puts Up Solid Numbers in Tough Meets

SAN JOSE STATE Cami Guyer placed second in the all-around at No. 20 Washington with Arizona State and UC Davis, leading the Spartans to their second straight meet over 194 (194.625). Against two programs who opened the season in the top-25, she totaled a career-high 39.100 and matched or tied her career-highs on vault (9.80), bars (9.825) and floor (9.80). Julia Greer turned in her third straight 9.85 performance on floor, placing second in the rigorous meet. Kiana Gordon vaulted to a career-best 9.825, second on the team to Bekah Gher's meet-winning 9.90. SJSU's season average of 194.050 ranks 31st nationally.
UC DAVIS Lisa Wiktorski tied her career-high on bars (9.85), good enough to tie for third in the challenging quad at Washington, with the No. 20 Huskies, Arizona State, and San Jose State. Katy Nogaki scored a 9.750 on vault in last Monday's (Jan. 13) home dual with Alaska Anchorage, then hit a season-high and team-leading 9.775 in Saturday's quad meet at Washington. The Aggies host a Sunday (Jan. 26) quad with San Jose State, Utah State, and No. 12 Stanford.
SACRAMENTO STATE freshman Julia Konner recorded career-highs on vault (9.80) and floor (9.75), as the Hornets went up against No. 12 Stanford and No. 19 Arizona in Palo Alto last Sunday. The Hornets put together a 48.875 vault rotation. Sacramento State hosts SE Missouri State Friday.
SEATTLE PACIFIC hosts No. 21 University of Washington Friday. Tracie Villanueva received a 9.775 on bars to tie for fourth at the Lindenwood Quad, where the Falcons were second overall (190.450). Their bars total of 48.675 was 0.3 shy of the school record of 48.975. Kai Tindall posted her second straight floor title (9.75). The SPU final outcome marked the first time since 2006 of back-to-back season-opening meets of better than 190.
AIR FORCE scored a season-high 191.900 at Texas Woman's, as Jessica Wallander was second on vault (9.75). She was also fourth on floor (9.70) to lead the team's highest season score on that event (48.275). Linnaea Hance was second with a career-best on beam (9.825), en route to a 37.975 all-around. Air Force visits No. 18 Denver Saturday (Jan. 25)
ALASKA-ANCHORAGE Last Monday (Jan. 14) at UC Davis, Morgan Cook and Kallie Randolph took second on floor (9.675), as did Simone Penker on beam (9.70). The Seawolves host Temple Friday and Sunday for a pair of duals.
