2014 MPSF Gymnast of the Year
AKASH MODI - FRESHMAN - STANFORD - MORGANVILLE, NJ
Stanford freshman Akash Modi (Morganville, NJ) tallied 11 individual victories and led the MPSF with four conference and four national gymnast of the week honors. Modi finished the regular season ranked first in the nation in the all-around with a four-score average of 88.867. He is the only gymnast in the country to pass the 90.000 mark in the all-around, doing it twice, and recording a season-high 91.350 at the Collegiate Challenge (March 1). Modi is also ranked in the top-10 in the nation on floor (fourth, 15.367), pommel horse (eighth, 14.933), vault (10th, 15.083) and parallel bars (third, 15.367). Modi was incredibly consistent for the Cardinal, competing in 36 of 42 possible events on the season. He scored 14.150 or higher in 35 of 36 routines, and 15.050 or higher 21 times. Modi is the 2014 MPSF Parallel Bars (15.800) and All-Around (89.650) Champion.

THOM GLIELMI - HEAD COACH - STANFORD - 12TH YEAR
Stanford head coach Thom Glielmi wins his second MPSF Coach of the Year honor, first earning it in the NCAA and conference championship season of 2009. Entering this year's postseason, Stanford as a team is ranked amongst the nation's elite in numerous categories in terms of four-score average. The Cardinal are third overall, tied for second on high bar, third on still rings, fourth on vault, parallel bars, and pommel horse, and seventh on floor exercise. Individually, freshman Akash Modi posted an MPSF-High four weekly conference and national gymnast of the week awards, and is the nation's top all-arounder, and ranks in the top-10 on four events. Four other Cardinal Gymnasts are listed within the nation's top-10 in their respective events; Brian Knott, Taylor Seaton, Dennis Zaremski, and Michael Levy.
2014 MPSF CO-Coach of the Year
KIP SIMONS - HEAD COACH - AIR FORCE - NINTH YEAR
Air Force head coach Kip Simons picks up his second MPSF Coach of the Year honor, first earning it in `06. On March 21, the Falcons won their fifth straight USAG Championship with a near four-point victory over the closest competitor. Denis Aurelius became the Academy's first national floor champion since 2007 on that weekend, en route to a pair of All-American honors. Tim Wang set Academy records on the pommel horse (15.100) and all-around (88.400) in his freshman year, and helped Air Force to seven of the 10-highest team scores in Academy history, including a record-score of 439.700 on March 2. Wang was a two-time USAG All-American and two-time CGA Gymnast of the Week, while also claiming an MPSF Gymnast of the Week honor. He was just the second Falcon ever to reach day two of the Winter Cup. Air Force is ranked 10th nationally entering the post-season.
