NCAA Men's Volleyball Championship Info

Chicago, IL---MPSF at-large and No. 3 NCAA Seed Stanford (23-8) swept Conference Carolinas Champion and No. 6 NCAA Seed Erksine (20-7), 25-14, 25-16, 25-16, in 1 hour and 13 minutes during Tuesday's NCAA play-in at Loyola-Chicago. The Cardinal advance to face No. 2 seed and MPSF Champion BYU in the first semifinal Thursday (May 1) at 6 pm (CT). It will be the fourth meeting of the year between the Cardinal and Cougars, with BYU winning the first three, including a sweep in the MPSF Championship in Provo this past weekend.

Stanford dominated the team hitting (.423-.043) and blocking (13-2) against Erskine. Brian Cook hit .526 (12-2-19) in the play-in. Steven Irvin added nine kills and six digs, followed by Eric Mochalski with seven kills (.429) and seven digs. Grant Delgado had a match-high 11 digs. Setter James Shaw dished 32 assists and had five digs and five blocks.
