UC Davis Sets Season-Opening Record

UC DAVIS set a program record score for a season opener (194.350), taking second as it hosted No. 10 Stanford, No. 14 California, San Jose State, and Sacramento State in the NorCal Classic on Jan. 4. Stephanie Stamates had a career-high and first-place balance beam (9.85) and tied for second on floor (9.85). UCD combined for a fourth-best all-time and a winning 48.925 beam score. The Aggie vault squad accumulated 48.900, sixth-best in school history, led by Katy Nogaki's third-place 9.85. Dani Judal made her all-around debut, totaling 38.925 and tying for third. UC Davis visits Seattle Pacific Friday (Jan. 9).

SAN JOSE STATE accumulated 194.050 in taking third at the NorCal Classic, the program's second-best opening score in the last decade (194.300; 2012). The Spartans totaled 48.775 on vault, ranked 10th in program history, led by junior transfer Maddie Herr's 9.80 in her Spartan debut. Cami Guyer finished third all-around (38.925), backed by team-bests on vault (9.775), floor (9.775), and bars (9.75). San Jose State hosts No. 10 Stanford this Friday.

SACRAMENTO STATE was led by senior Kaliah McCartney's second-place 39.000 all-around as the defending MPSF Champions tied for fourth with a 193.450 at the NorCal Classic. Annie Juarez hit a 9.825 on floor, tying her for fifth in her collegiate debut. The Hornets compete in their home opener this Friday against No. 14 California.

AIR FORCE travels to Utah State this Friday to kick-off the 2015 season.

ALASKA-ANCHORAGE hosts a two-meet series against Winona State this Thursday and Saturday (Jan. 8 & 10). The meets are held in the brand new Alaska Airlines Center, site of the 2015 MPSF Championship on March 21.

SEATTLE PACIFIC opens its season at home Friday in a dual meet against UC Davis.
