UCD Posts School Record Vault; SJSU Wins

SAN JOSE STATE totaled 194.525 at home, exactly two full points ahead of UC Davis in the dual (Feb. 20). Cami Guyer won her second straight all-around (39.175). She was the beam winner (9.775), while also chipping in a career vault (9.850), as well as solid scores on floor (9.800) and bars (9.750, T-2nd). Kaitlin Won was second all-around (38.850), topping out at 9.725 on bars and beam, tying for second on the latter.
UC DAVIS Katy Nogaki continues to dominate the vault, and so do the Aggies. She scored a winning 9.875 at San Jose State, on the heels of back-to-back MPSF season-highs 9.900. The Aggies accumulated a school record 49.100 vault total, also ranking No. 2 in MPSF history. Alexis Brown (9.850) placed behind Nogaki to help that cause. Dani Judal won bars (9.775), as did Kala DeFrancesco on floor (9.850). The Aggie floor show compiled 49.000, tops since February of last year.
AIR FORCE tallied 191.850 at Illinois State (Feb. 20). Jessica Wallander shared the floor title with a career-best matching 9.825. Jamie Lewis turned in a runner-up finish on vault (9.750), as the Falcons posted four of the top-six scores in that event.
SACRAMENTO STATE competing in her first collegiate all-around, Julia Konner scored 38.700 in a four-team meet which included No. 7 Nebraska, host No. 9 UCLA, and Bridgeport. Konner scored 9.825 on vault to tie for seventh, and had a 9.725 on beam, 9.675 on bars and 9.475 on floor. Lauren Rice had a 9.825 floor, tops outside UCLA and Nebraska, along with a 9.725 on bars. The Hornets accumulated 194.150 to finish third.
SEATTLE PACIFIC Ariana Harger achieved the highest score of the season by any Falcon gymnast on any apparatus, going 9.850 on floor at a Washington tri meet which included California (Feb. 21). She tied for fifth on floor in the meet, surpassing her career-high by .05. Harger added a 9.650 on vault. Sydney Clark turned in four season-bests including the all-around (38.650), and Tracie Villanueva took fourth on bars (9.800). SPU recorded its third-best team score of the season at 192.050.
ALASKA-ANCHORAGE competed in Milwaukee, WI (Feb. 13), as four Seawolves earned a win which led to a second-place finish (189.050) ahead of Winona State and behind the host UW-Whitewater. At Northern Illinois Sunday, UAA totaled 190.925 in the tri-meet, surpassing 190 for the fourth time in the last six meets. UAA tied its second-best floor total ever (48.875), and its highest since 2005, highlighted by Julia York's first-place tie (9.875). M'rcy Matsunami went 38.625 all-around.
