STANFORD (17-1 Overall, 2-0 MPSF) Kiley Neushul netted three goals in a 14-3 win over UC Davis (Mar. 29), as well as in a 10-4 MPSF win at Arizona State (Mar. 28), becoming the fourth Cardinal and 38th player in MPSF history to reach 200 in her career. Anna Yelizarova's late goal vs. UCD gave her a career milestone of 100. Gabby Stone collected a career-high 15 saves against the Aggies, while Ashley Grossman and Dani Jackovich also posted hat tricks in that win. Shannon Cleary was effective on defense with two field blocks and forcing two turnovers at ASU, and the next day, helping limit an opponent to three goals or less for the eighth time this year. Winners of 35 straight MPSF games, Stanford hosts San Jose State Saturday (Apr. 4).
USC (19-2 Overall, 2-1 MPSF) Ioanna Haralabidis scored seven goals in two USC wins this past weekend, including a career-high five in a 19-5 MPSF victory at CSU Bakersfield (Mar. 29). She also scored twice in a 20-6 win at Loyola Marymount (Mar. 28). Victoria Chamorro collected eight saves, three on penalty shots, at LMU. She held the Lions scoreless for a stretch of 21-plus minutes. Stephania Haralabidis had a hat trick at CSUB, as did Jayde Appel and MPSF scoring leader Monica Vavic at LMU. The five weekend goals for Vavic gives her a career total of 269, moving into fourth all-time in the MPSF, and 17 away from the record.
CALIFORNIA (16-4 Overall, 2-1 MPSF) Dora Antal posted a hat trick at CSU Bakersfield (Mar. 28), leading an 11-6 conference win. Cal used a 4-0 second quarter to gain control of the contest, a run which would extend to 7-0 with 3:06 left in the third quarter. Tiera Schroeder, Anna Illes, and Pippa Saunders added two goals apiece. The Bears host USC Saturday (Apr. 4) at 12 noon on Pac-12 Networks. Antal leads Cal with 53 goals on the year, ranking third in the MPSF (2.65 GPG).
UCLA (19-1 Overall, 3-0 MPSF) Rachel Fattal accumulated five goals and five steals through two wins in Honolulu, HI, taking down San Diego State 13-4 (Mar. 28), and the host Hawaii, 11-6 (Mar. 27). Four of Fattal's goals came against UH, while Emily Donohoe added three. UCLA scored five times in the second quarter in that game to open things up. Goalkeeper Sami Hill totaled 12 saves to run her MPSF top-10 career total to 869. The Bruins take an unbeaten conference record to Arizona State Saturday (Apr. 4).
ARIZONA STATE (16-6 Overall, 2-2 MPSF) routed Hartwick 14-2 in the second game of a home doubleheader (Mar. 28), as Claudia Abad scored a career-high four goals. Petra Pardi added three first half goals, and would also tally twice in the Stanford game. EB Keeve combined for 17 saves, leaving her 11 away from becoming the eighth MPSF goalkeeper to reach a career total of 900. The Sun Devils return to MPSF action by hosting top-ranked UCLA Saturday (Apr. 4).
CSU BAKERSFIELD (12-13 Overall, 0-4 MPSF) Bridgette Souza recorded three goals against USC, and Kristen Jensen and Katie Benson each tallied twice against California. The Roadrunners visit CSU East Bay (Apr. 11) before resuming MPSF action at Stanford (Apr. 12).
SAN JOSE STATE (18-7 Overall, 0-3 MPSF) is coming off a bye week and visits Stanford Saturday (Apr. 4). The Spartans won a doubleheader in the Arizona State Invitational (Mar. 22), routing Redlands 20-1 and Hartwick, 21-7. Clara Espar Llaquet combined for nine goals in the two wins, and finished the week with 10, including the contest vs. ASU. Rae Lekness added five goals vs. Hartwick. Kelli Leabo and McKenna Yates shared a game-high four goals each vs. Redlands, while goalkeeper Sara Northam was credited with 10 saves in her season debut.
