No. 9 AIR FORCE Tim Wang equaled the all-time Academy record on vault with a score of 15.350 and won the event, as the Falcons totaled 425.950 at Nebraska (Jan. 23). The Air Force vault squad posted an Academy record 74.200 in that rotation. Wang also captured the all-around title (86.800), and finished second on pommel horse (15.100) and high bar (14.750), and was third on parallel bars (14.300). Denis Aurelius added a first-place finish, as he scored 14.950 to win the still rings by a 0.700-point margin.
No. 2 STANFORD won a tri-meet in Berkeley (Jan. 24), totaling a season-high 445.550, ahead of No. 4 Ohio State and host No. 5 California. Akash Modi posted a season-best 90.550 to claim the all-around title, winning four events along the way. He posted career-best scores on floor (16.000), pommel horse (15.400) and high bar (15.550), along with the parallel bars win (15.250), to lead the Cardinal to its highest team score on the road since the scoring system was adjusted in 2012.
No. 1 OKLAHOMA won a road dual at No.10 Michigan, 444.400-427.850 (Jan. 23). The top-ranked Sooners swept the individual event titles, with Colin Van Wicklen taking floor (15.400), rings (14.850), and vault (15.500), Yul Moldauer winning high bar (14.950) and parallel bars (16.000), and junior Allan Bower taking the pommel horse (15.000). Moldauer also went on for the all-around victory for the second-straight week to begin his collegiate career (88.550). Van Wicklen was second all-around (87.450), followed by Kanji Oyama in third (86.950). OU's top team total was on floor (75.900), though it also won every team event.
No. 8 CALIFORNIA tallied 425.300 as it hosted No. 2 Stanford and No. 4 Ohio State Sunday (Jan. 24). Sophomore Yordan Aleksandrov posted scores of 14.650 on high bar, 14.600 on parallel bars, 14.550 on vault, 14.350 on floor exercise and 14.250 on still rings, en route to an 84.200 all-around.
