Stanford sophomore Riley Loos (El Dorado Hills, CA) won the all-around with an 80.900 to guide the Cardinal to a virtual win over California (Feb. 13). Loos captured first-place on the floor exercise (13.800) and a share of the title on the still rings (13.450). Following a 13.000 on pommel horse, he posted a 14.100 on vault before taking second on parallel bars with a career-best 13.600. He finished his night with a 12.950 on high bar – good for one more runner-up finish. This is the first career MPSF weekly award for Loos...

DEFENDING NCAA CHAMPION STANFORD UNDERWAY IN 2021
 
No. 15 STANFORD began its season with virtual meets against William & Mary (Feb. 10) and California (Feb. 13)…Riley Loos won two events and the all-around in a 394.350-380.200 Cardinal dual win over the No. 9 Bears…Loos totaled a winning 80.900 all-around, taking first-place on still rings (13.450) and floor (13.800), along with a second-place high bar (12.950) and second-place-tying parallel bars (13.600)…Blake Sun easily won parallel bars by eight-tenths (14.400) and took third on pommel horse (13.200)…Brandon Nguyen was the vault winner (14.800) and was third on floor (13.450), en route to second-place all-around (78.850)…JR Chou claimed the pommel horse title (13.500)…Stanford’s first-place routines against the Tribe included Nguyen all-around (78.050), Sun on parallel bars (14.650), Curran Phillips on vault (14.950), and Blake Wilson on floor (13.650).
 
No. 10 CALIFORNIA recorded 380.200 in a virtual meet with Stanford (Feb. 13)…The Cal floor squad totaled its best of the year (65.300) as did the vault lineup (69.200)… Reigning MPSF Gymnast of the Week Yu-Chen Lee paced Cal in three events, including a season-high and second-place finish on parallel bars (13.600)…He tied his season-high on vault (13.950) and was the Bears' top scorer on floor (13.400) for the third-straight meet…Caleb Rickard recorded a career-best and second-place 14.600 on vault…Noah Newfeld totaled a 76.050 all-around.

No. 12 AIR FORCE competed in the All-Academy Championships with Navy and Army (Feb. 13), where the Falcons placed second (379.100), ahead of the host Army…Frankie Valentin posted a pair of second-place results on still rings (13.100) and all-around (75.650)…  Collin Hickey posted a career-best 14.550 on vault – the fifth-best score in Air Force history – to tie for third…Oliver Zavel and Troy Jenkins also recorded second-place marks, as Zavel scored a career-best 12.800 to tie for second on the high bar and Jenkins posted a career-best 13.800 for second-place on floor….Air Force totaled a team record 71.350 on vault.
 
No. 1 OKLAHOMA is the top-ranked team in the nation overall and at least in the top-two on every event…The Sooners recorded a winning 413.400 in a virtual meet against No. 8 Army (Jan. 30)…
