MPSF/MOLTEN OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

BYU junior outside hitter Davide Gardini (Ravenna, Italy) led all players with 18 kills in the 3-1 win at No. 4 Pepperdine (Mar. 19), hitting .556. Gardini served three of BYU’s 10 aces and totaled 21.5 points. In BYU’s 3-0 win in the second match (Mar. 20), Gardini had 10 kills with only two errors for a .533 percentage. He had one ace, four block assists, and six digs in that win.  He hit .548 for the series (28-5-42), with four kills per sets. This is the fourth career MPSF weekly award for Gardini.

LUKE TURNER OF STANFORD
MPSF/MOLTEN DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Stanford freshman outside hitter Luke Turner (Hermosa Beach, CA/Loyola HS) averaged 1.00 digs and 1.00 blocks per set to go with 3.00 kills and 3.57 points per set in a pair of matches against No. 7 Grand Canyon (Mar. 19-20). In the first win of the year for the Cardinal last Friday, Turner had five blocks, including one solo and four digs along with 12 kills. On Saturday, he finished with three digs, two blocks and nine kills. This is the first career MPSF honor for Turner.
