MPSF/MOLTEN OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

UCLA senior outside hitter Alex Knight (Culver City, CA) was the lone Bruin to put together back-to-back double digit kill efforts in helping the team to a pair of wins over No. 2 Long Beach State (Feb. 9-10). Knight hit .476 (23-3-42) through the two wins, and averaged 3.29 kills per set for the week. In the home sweep, his performance was part of the MPSF’s new season-high team hitting percentage of .551. Knight also added clean receptions on 34 of 35 Beach serves (.971) in the two matches. This is the first career MPSF weekly award for Knight.

ANDREW ROWAN OF UCLA
MPSF/MOLTEN DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

UCLA freshman setter Andrew Rowan (Trabuco Canyon, CA) accumulated seven blocks (1.00 B/S), including five block solos, to help lead the Bruins to a pair of wins over No. 2 Long Beach State (Feb. 9-10). He led the team with five blocks (four solos) and with a match-high six digs (2.00 D/S) in a home sweep of the Beach, in which he also set the team to an MPSF season-high .551. Rowan came back the next night in the four-set road win with two blocks, including one solo. This is the first career MPSF honor for Rowan.
