2023 MPSF Coach of the Year
MEGAN ABARCA · FIFTH YEAR · STANFORD
Stanford fifth-year head coach
Megan Abarca led the Cardinal to a second-straight MPSF Championship, guiding victories in each of the events (solo, duet, trio, Technical ‘A,’ and team) for a total score of 100 points. She also led Stanford to dual meet victories over Wheaton, UCLA, and Ohio State, along with a first-place finish in the Western Regionals. Abarca has led a large new group of swimmers this season, welcoming six freshmen with a full roster of 14 athletes. Her leadership has resulted in a seamless transition for the newcomers, as she guided three freshmen--Yara Elian, Ivy Davis, and Miko Begossi to the MPSF Trio title. Elian also earned the duet title along with Lindi Schroeder. Abarca also led Begossi and Davis to the silver medal in the duet competition at the MPSF Championships.
