California senior goalkeeper Isabel Williams (Severna Park, MD) averaged 14.7 saves per game (44 total) to go with 5 steals and 3 assists as the Bears held three straight top-13 opponents to seven goals or fewer. With a career high-tying 18 saves in a 16-7 win over No. 13 Michigan, Williams moved to No. 4 on Cal’s all-time saves list and reached the 600 career-save milestone. She also had four steals and an assist in the win over the Wolverines. In season-opening wins of 13-4 over No. 11 UC Davis and 8-6 over No. 5 UC Irvine, Williams collected 14 and 12 saves, respectively. This is the third career MPSF weekly award for Williams.

UCLA freshman
Lauren Steele (Old Greenwich, CT) went 3-0 against three ranked teams at the UCSB Winter Invitational (Jan. 20-21). Steele totaled 17 saves (10.0 SPG) with a 5.88 goals-against average, as the Bruins defeated No. 25 Marist, No. 10 UC San Diego, and No. 12 UCSB. She led the team in steals with five as she played just over half of the 12 quarters (6.8) in the cage. She also played in the field where she scored three goals. This is the first career MPSF award for Steele.
