2024 MPSF Artistic Swimmer of the Meet

Stanford sophomore Yara Elian (Walnut Creek, CA) defended her MPSF Championship in the duet (192.8708) and trio (190.9667) routines to help the Cardinal to a third-straight overall conference crown. She also placed second in the tech ‘A’ (79.4937) and team (254.3021) competitions for a total of 69 individual championship points, nine points ahead of the runner-up, giving her the largest margin for the individual high-point MPSF title in the three-year history of the event (ahead of her own eight-point victory last year). Stanford has won all three major MPSF Artistic Swimmer awards (Yara Elian-2024, Lindi Schroeder-2023, Nicole Goot-2022).
 
2024 MPSF Freshman of the Meet
MARIA BOFILL STRUB · FRESHMAN · INCARNATE WORD

University of the Incarnate Word freshman Maria Bofill Strub (Barcelona, Spain) is one of just two first-year artistic swimmers to be named an All-MPSF first-team honoree this year. Strub collected 53 individual points at the MPSF Championship, the most among first-year swimmers and fifth-most in the entire event. She was part of the first-place MPSF team competition (259.5125), placed fourth in the duet (163.0021) and solo routines (154.0583), and fifth in the tech ‘A’ element (76.4214). Strub is the first-ever UIW major award recipient in MPSF Artistic Swimming.
 
2024 MPSF Coach of the Meet
MEGAN ABARCA · SIXTH YEAR · STANFORD

Stanford sixth-year head coach Megan Abarca led the Cardinal to a third-straight MPSF Championship, guiding victories in the duet, trio, and technical ‘A’ events, in addition to second-place finishes in the solo and team competitions for a total score of 95 points. Stanford placed eight artistic swimmers on the All-MPSF teams this year, including five on the first team, matching last year’s all-time conference-bests. Abarca has earned the annual MPSF Coach award in all three years of MPSF Artistic Swimming.
