MPSF WOMEN’S FENCER OF THE WEEK

Rodaina Gaafar (Cairo, Egypt) recorded a 13-3 mark in women’s epee (.813) at the Northwestern Duals (Feb. 3-4), including two wins over No. 8 Northwestern and one win over No. 13 Ohio State. She went unbeaten against Cleveland State, Lawrence, and Fairleigh Dickinson. This is the first career MPSF weekly award for Gaafar, and the first-ever for a UIW fencer.

MPSF MEN’S FENCER OF THE WEEK
Air Force freshman
James Jang (Old Tappan, NJ) led the Falcon men with an overall 15-2 foil record (.882), going 3-0 against Cleveland State, Lawrence, Wayne State, and Boston College at the Northwestern Duals (Feb. 3-4). Jang also picked up a win over Stanford and two additional wins over Wayne State. This is the first career MPSF award for Jang.
