BRIGHAM FRENTHEWAY OF OKLAHOMA
MPSF GYMNAST OF THE WEEK


Oklahoma  senior Brigham Frentheway (Cheyenne, WY) registered a four-score total of 54.500 to lead a season-opening win over Air Force (Jan. 12). Frentheway’s effort helped the Sooners post the highest score in the country through the first weekend of competition. He won the floor title and finished in the top three on each of his four events. He notched a 13.700 to anchor the floor and followed with a career-high 13.450 on rings. He anchored OU’s vault rotation with a 14.200 to place second, then closed with a 13.150 on high bar.  This is the first career MPSF weekly award for Frentheway.
 
ARTHUR BALLON OF OKLAHOMA
MPSF FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK


Oklahoma redshirt freshman Arthur Ballon (Lyon, France) made his collegiate debut in the season-opening win over Air Force (Jan. 12), and hit a 14.300 to win the vault title. He also scored 13.550 on floor exercise in his first routine, and closed the meet with a 12.700 on high bar. Ballon’s effort helped the Sooners post the highest score in the country through the first weekend. He ranks second nationally on vault (by 0.050 points) and is tied for fourth on floor.  This is the first career MPSF award for Ballon.
 
IGANCIO YOCKERS OF OKLAHOMA
MPSF SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK


Oklahoma junior Ignacio Yockers (Tulsa, OK) won the pommel horse title with a 14.450 to lead a season-opening win over Air Force (Jan. 12). Yockers’ effort helped the Sooners post the highest score in the country through the first weekend of competition. He also scored 12.750 on parallel bars and 12.300 on horizontal bar. His high bar routine was his first ever in a collegiate meet, and he competed on the event as an alternate after an injury substitution during the rotation. This is the ninth career MPSF weekly award for Yockers.
