Piper Randolph (Solana Beach, CA) went a perfect 11-0 at the Dave Micahnik Penn Invitational (Jan. 17-18). She is the first Triton to go undefeated at an event in at least the last three seasons. Randolph helped the Triton women go 7-2 in Philadelphia, which included ranked wins over No. 8 Penn—the program's first—and No. 14 Temple. This is the first career MPSF award for Randolph.
NURZHAN ABZHANOV OF UC SAN DIEGO
MPSF MEN’S FENCER OF THE WEEK

Nurzhan Abzhanov (Almaty, Kazakhstan) had the best individual record on for the Triton men at the Dave Micahnik Penn Invitational (Jan. 17-18). He went 12-3 to help the Tritons go 5-3, with two of those losses to fellow ranked teams. Abzhanov also beat NJIT's Paul Veltrup, who is the top-ranked fencer in the country by SPI in men's epee with a record of 44-4 this season. This is the first career MPSF award for Abzhanov.
