2026 MPSF Player of the Year
SALLY PEREZ · # 11 · SOPHOMORE · UCLA
UCLA sophomore
Sally Perez (Apex, NC) competed on court one for all of the Bruins’ 36 matches, and takes an individual record of 31-5 (.861) into the NCAA Tournament. Of her 31 wins, 26 have been against ranked opponents, which include 16 wins over current top-10 opponents (eight in April), and nine wins over the current top-five. She had six dual-clinching points through the year. Perez and partner Maggie Boyd were named MPSF/Molten Pair of the Week as well as AVCA National Pair of the Week on March 3, after a 4-0 weekend at the Battle for LA (Feb. 27-28). In that tournament, the duo posted a win over All-Americans Ella Connor and Erin Iskeep from then-No. 3 Cal Poly, followed by another victory over All-Americans from No. 10 Long Beach State, Malia Gementera and Taylor Hagenah. Perez, now a two-time All-MPSF first team honoree and repeat winner of the MPSF Pair of the Year award, also represents UCLA’s second-straight MPSF Player of the Year recipient (Boyd, 2025).
2026 MPSF Freshman of the Year
SARAH WOOD · # 17 · FRESHMAN · USC
USC freshman
Sarah Wood (Glen Mills, PA) competed primarily on courts one and two in her initial season, and takes an individual record of 27-11 (.711) into the NCAA Tournament. Wood mostly partnered with Zoey Henson, as the duo has gone 11-4 on court one and 14-2 on court two, which included a 15-match win streak through all of March. Wood made an immediate impact on the collegiate scene, as she and Henson won all six of their matches in the No. 2 position at the season-opening Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic in Honolulu, HI (Feb. 19-21), and earned the tournament’s Most Outstanding Pair and MPSF/Molten Pair of the Week awards. Five of their six wins came over top-10 opponents in that tournament. Wood and Henson also earned AVCA National Pair of the Week on March 8 following four ranked wins in a 6-0 week. Wood, one of two freshmen on this year’s first team All-MPSF list, represents USC’s first MPSF Beach Volleyball annual award recipient.

STEIN METZGER · THIRD-YEAR · TEXAS
Texas third-year Head Coach
Stein Metzger guided the Longhorns to an MPSF Championship in their first season in the conference, winning all four matches over three days. Texas is the No. 2 seed in the 2026 NCAA Tournament, taking a 26-6 record (.812) with a program record 13-match winning streak, along with its best-ever AVCA National ranking of No. 2.
