Choose a Staff Member: Cook, Marshall Drury, Amber Fuller, Burt Giarla, Tony Hedlund, Kaia Henderson, Eli Mellis, Foti Preston, Darren Robertello, Steve Sheen, Raul Sloan, Rick Taylor, Ken Amber Drury Title Supervisor of Officials, Water Polo Email Amber Drury brings over 40 years of water polo experience to the MPSF, including over 25 years of officiating. She is one of only a handful of people in the world to have played, coached, officiated, and evaluated at water polo’s highest levels. From 2019-25, Drury was the officiating coordinator for the NCAA, largely responsible for the education and training of college water polo officials. From 2004-19, Drury worked as an NCAA official for several conferences, including the MPSF, along with over 10 years for conference and NCAA Championship events. She has an extensive background within USA and international water polo, officiating and evaluating events such as the US Open, National Junior Olympics, Master’s Nationals and Collegiate Cup, and Champions Cup, in addition to spending over 15 years as a FINA-ranked official. She served as a seven-time Super World League Final official as well as a two-time referee for the FISU World University Games and the 2013 World Championships. Drury has assisted with the Olympic Development Program, National Junior Olympics, and referee education, and has instructed numerous referee schools across the country. She has been the head coach at multiple Division-I universities and for the 2003 USA Water Polo Junior World Championship team, and an assistant coach for the 1998 USA Senior World Championship team. As a highly accomplished athlete, Drury is a member of the United States Water Polo Hall of Fame and a two-time USA Water Polo Player of the Year and Division-III Player of the Year. Several of Drury’s duties as MPSF Water Polo Supervisor of Officials include the scheduling of officials for all MPSF member institutions’ home contests, developing and maintaining the highest quality pool of MPSF officials, evaluating each MPSF official at least once annually, and developing a rating based on her evaluations. She will also develop educational materials suitable for online and in-person training for college water polo officials to ensure consistency in applying NCAA water polo playing rules.
